Magnitude 5.9 earthquake injures dozens of people in Turkey

  • A 6.1 magnitude earthquake struck northwestern Turkey at dawn on Wednesday, according to the United States Institute of Geological Studies, leaving at least 22 injured according to Turkish authorities.

    The tremor, located at a depth of about ten kilometers, occurred at 04:08 about 170 km east of Istanbul, the largest city in the country, said the USGS.
