Magnitude 5.9 earthquake injures dozens of people in Turkey

  • A 6.1 magnitude earthquake struck northwestern Turkey at dawn on Wednesday, the US Institute for Geological Surveys said, injuring 35 people according to Turkish authorities.

    Turkish authorities announced the magnitude of the earthquake as being 5.9, with an epicenter located in Golyaka, in the province of Duzce, in the north-west of the country.

    We have 35 wounded, including one in critical condition, Turkish Health Minister Fahrettin Koca said.
